In addition to providing an all-embracing plant service to Byrne Group companies, Thorn Plant is well known amongst many of the industry’s best known contractors, including those in the public utilities sector, for supplying a comprehensive range of plant and temporary works equipment. Thorn Plant has been in operation for nearly thirty years and is one of the UK’s leaders in non-mechanical plant hire. Our specialisation is predominantly centred on the provision of formwork and falsework, groundwork equipment, scaffolding and other items necessary for working at high level including a complete range of aluminium towers. In addition, Thorn carries a large stock of electrical tools and accessories which are also available for sale.

We fully understand the pressures that the ‘round-the-clock’ construction process demands and the reputation of our business is focused on an ability to perform when it matters. From our strategically located depot at Berkhamsted, we operate a 24-hour delivery service to sites throughout London and the Home Counties. The fast, friendly service is supported by full autocad design facilities. Deliveries are made by HIAB equipped lorries so no logistical challenge is ever a problem.
